Imagine transforming a distressed neighborhood into a vibrant and thriving community through the power of collaborative partnerships. This is what the East Community Renewal Initiative (ESCRI) plans to achieve. By combining community development activities and diversified services, ESCRI implements a holistic approach to improve the quality of life of the residents of the East St. neighborhood. ESCRI is a place-based initiative to positively impact a 3-mile radius area of north Anaheim. We invite you to learn more about our efforts and hope that together, we can be part of a new direction for this community.
ESCRI is a project of the Eli Home, a veteran organization that has been breaking the cycle of child abuse for over 26 years. ESCRI addresses the problem of child abuse by looking at a community as a whole and searching for solutions that build a healthier environment for children to prosper. This approach includes programs that impact individual residents, families and the overall neighborhood. To this end, ESCRI operates under the following guiding principles:
1. Empower through a holistic approach that includes education, job training, affordable housing, small business development, referral and social services.
2. To provide effective and consistent leadership.
3. To collaborate with other interested stakeholders in non-profit, for-profit, philanthropic and government.
Our mission is to transform the East Street neighborhood via a holistic approach that promotes self-sufficiency, economic empowerment and a healthy and vibrant community. We know that our ability to be inclusive and accessible in the community is made possible by the support of organizations that share our mission.
